Bobtails
Proper bobtail manufacturing represents a substantial challenge to the fabricator. The foundation begins with a propane vessel which is a mobile piece of operating equipment, assembled with skirting, piping, wiring, electronic equipment and mounted on a mobile chassis. When placed in service, it will be subjected to different operators, various types of road and weather conditions. The bobtail must provide trouble free performance at high efficiency throughout its service life.

STORAGE VESSELS
Arrow Tank and Engineering Co began fabricating LPG and NH3 storage vessels in the 1960. Through many decades of evolution, our Custom Fabrication Division has grown to become a leader in producing large volume heavy wall high pressure vessels. We are continuously investing in new equipment and expanding the plant in our quest to better serve our customers with the highest quality standards and commitment to on time delivery.
Somewhat unique to Arrow Tank is our own state of the art post weld heat treatment (PWHT) oven onsite that not only serves our needs, but those of many other manufacturers in the United States and Canada. With regard to LPG and NH3, PWHT is required for quenched and tempered (QT) LPG and NH3 transport vessels. Storage vessels intended for NH3 service are also stress relieved in the oven.
We are capable of building storage capacities in 18K, 30K, 45K, 60K, 90K, 120K or larger. When it comes to capacity we are ready for the task.
CARGO TANKS
Arrow propane vessels are fabricated in accordance with the latest codes and regulations. A fully staffed, in-house engineering and drafting department is our advantage to quickly expedite orders, perform vessel modifications, and allow design flexibility in new construction.

NBBI “R” Stamp (National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors)
MTI (Metal Treating Institute)
DOT Certification for all services performed. (Department of Transportation)
UL (Underwriters Laboratories)
Onsite complete post weld heat treatment and non-destructive testing, including level III radiography (x-ray), Magnetic Particle, dye penetrant and ultrasonic testing.

LP Gas Equipment Manufacturer Since 1957
Arrow Tank & Engineering Company was formed in 1957 to manufacture storage containers mainly for the oil and gas industry. Our core products included above and below ground storage tanks, water tanks and trucks, liquid fuel tank trucks, propane gas tank trucks, propane transports and large storage tanks.
Initially this all took place in a modest manufacturing facility located in Edina, MN. A surge in demand for our products during the 1960’s prompted the construction of a new state of the art 80,000 square-foot plant in Eagan, MN. This new facility provided the environment to produce 150 complete new trucks per year.
As the times changed, so did the business plan. In 1971 Arrow Tank relocated the main fabrication plant to Cambridge, MN. Today Arrow employs over 170 people with all cargo tank fabrication, bobtail assembly, service and parts located at our Cambridge plant under approximately 165,000 square-feet of production space.
Thanks to the support of owners and operators like yourselves we are approaching the 70-year mark in building bobtails for the propane industry. We do not take this for granted as we continue to improve and build the highest quality bobtails on the market.
